Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, "That didn't come out the way I meant it?" or avoided saying something because you weren't quite sure how to say it?

In this practical three-hour workshop, you'll learn and practise simple communication tools to help you prepare for challenging conversations, express yourself more clearly and navigate the conversation when it doesn't quite go as planned.

What you'll learn

During the workshop, you'll learn practical ways to:

  • prepare for a difficult conversation before you have it

  • separate what you know from what you may be assuming

  • communicate what needs to be said without blaming or attacking

  • use questions and curiosity to explore the issue and solutions

What to expect

This is a workshop, not a lecture.

I'll introduce and demonstrate each technique, and you'll then have the opportunity to practice through paired or small-group activities.

We'll use everyday scenarios and examples, and towards the end of the workshop you'll apply what you've learned to prepare for a conversation that matters to you.

You won't be expected to disclose anything personal.
